Wedstrijdverslag Bloemendaal I – VOC I

Match Report 4th May 2013

After long cold winter finally we kick off for our cricket session on 4th May 2013.

Our 1st game was against VOC at home (at Bloemendaal), two umpires came up with new rules for this session (according to international level) 2 power play (1st  PP 10 overs (with 2 players outside the circle) and then 5 overs PP  can be taken between 11 and 40 overs). Maximum players outside the circle should be 4 except in power play with 3 players outside the circle, 30-minute lunch break and while bowling if you hit the stump it is “No ball”.

We lost the toss was ask to field. In 1st 20 overs we consume 100 runs where we took 2 wickets, they played few good shots and few extra’s we bowled.

Hugh gave us the 1st break and then Quirijn took second wicket, middle overs where well bowled and where in good control (run’s where not coming that easily) till second drink break we where in good position but then last 12 overs don’t know what happen but they took over our bowlers and scored 100+. Any way we need to learn the art of how to bowl in depth overs.

So that was our 1st part of the innings and we need to chase 257 runs to win the game. That means we need to score 5 runs per over.

Our openers where quick back in pavilion and so our middle order, Dave and Rein tried to rotate the strike but did not last to long and we where 60 for 8 but then Quirijn played patience inning with some good shots and score 60+ runs.

So the final score was 160 all out, lost the game and 2 points.

So we all learn from the 1st game of the session that if you don’t improve your basic cricket requirement skills (Bating, Bowling and Fielding) then its too late and tough to get those 2 points in coming match.

Lets together enjoy our cricket, back each other (Motivate) and have fun.
